Creating memorable characters
What do you remember more 4 months after you have watched a film? The plot line, the scenes or the memorable characters created by the actors who play them? People normally watch films to meet interesting and compelling characters. Before you create any film you will need to create characters. This is easier than you think!!!

Identifying the stereotype
Each character will have steretypical traits. They will consist of:
1. Physical Trait (e.g., tall, weak, blond)
2. Sociological trait (eg. Housed, homeless, employed)
3. Psychological trait (eg. Paranoid, arrogent, honest)

Below is a list of characters - all of which have strong steroytypes
Choose 5 of the above characters, dress up in the clothes you have around the house and take pictures of your character going about their everyday lives. Mae sure to act like the character as well.

Put a DETAILED and CREATIVE PowerPoint presentation together on the Mise-en-scene (location, props, lighting, sound and character position) of the opening of The Sixth Sense.
Focus on:
Production Design: sets, props and costumes
Colour (present in both production design and lighting)
Lighting
Actors’ performance (including casting and make up) and movement
Framing including position; depth of field; height and angle (but not movement)
Diagetic sound (that is, sound that emanates from the scene and is not extraneous to it, such as the music that is not being played within the scene or a voice-over)
Then answer the following questions
What does the sequence mean to you?
How does it create that meaning?
