LESSON 1 - Generating ideas
Lesson 2 and 3 : Generating ideas independent task
Task 1:
Come up with an idea for a four-minute radio drama.
In order to do this you need to show research and generation of ideas.
1. Choose a genre
2. Research and download radio dramas of the same genre - what is it you like about these dramas?
3. Create a mind map (detailed) for an idea. Take into consideration:

3. Create a mind map (detailed) for an idea. Take into consideration:
- Loctation
- Characters
- Plot
- Narrative structure - Linear / non-linear, single stand, serial etc...
- Target audience - who would listen to your drama and where will it be aired
- Actors you would like to play your characters
- Sounds
- Cost of production
- Sound resources
Lesson 4 and 5: Writing your treatment
Task 2:
Write up a treatment in a word document
Front Cover (Title of Radio Drama plus picture to set the scene)
- Blurb / synopsis
- Detail on format (is it a single drama, documentary, series etc..)
- Detailed outline of your drama (Include detail on genre and comparisons to other dramas in that style)
- Narrative structure - appropriate to style and scheduling (when and where will it be aired), is it single or multi strand, linear or non linear, realist or anti realist?
- Character profile and representation of characters - are you stereotyping any characters, what gender are they and what age are they?
- Target Audience (demographics) and audience expectations
- Budget
- Actors / actresses
- Where it will be aired
LESSON 6: Turning treatment into pitch

Task 3:
Turn your treatment into an engaging pitch. You will be required to 'sell' your drama to me before you can write up a script
Your pitch can be in the form of:
- A PowerPoint (Must have sounds and visuals)
- Video presentation (You can record your pitch and play it during the presentation)
- Interactive pitch (Including actors and props)
Your PowerPoint pitch MUST be uploaded along with your treatment by the end of your next lesson.
